Aplus Flash Technology has signed an agreement with Chartered about 0.35um EEPROM IP, Aug. 28, 2009

San Jose, CA, Aug. 28, 2009 - Aplus Flash Technology - a privately-held, US-based fabless provider of nonvolatile memory (NVM) products and IP - announced that Aplus has signed an agreement with Chartered Semiconductor Manufacturing Ltd. (Chartered) to develop a family of 0.35 um 2P3M standard EEPROM IPs. This signed EEPROM IP contract covers several standard memory sizes best suitable for embedded applications, such as MCU and consumer electronics. Aplus will also help Chartered deal with the production issues associated with the EEPROM IP. By adding Aplus' leading-edge EEPROM IP to Chartered's existing NVM portfolio, Chartered can provide a better foundry service to those worldwide customers in need to design the world-class embedded EEPROM product.

Dr. Henry Ma, Aplus' Shanghai General Manager and VP of IP sales, stated "This is the second EE IP contract we've signed within this month. This clearly demonstrates Aplus' proprietary EEPROM design expertise being well recognized in the highly-competitive worldwide EEPROM IP community. In addition to the mutually defined standard IEEPROM IPs in the contract, Aplus also commits to designing the customized EEPROM IPs for Chartered's selective customers. Teaming up with the 3rd largest foundry company, Chartered, we strongly believe that together, we can offer more added-value and more user-friendly EEPROM IPs that blend the best attributes of the two companies to customers worldwide after the verification of these IP."
