FLASH TECHNOLOGY OPENS ITS SHANGHAI BRANCH OFFICE |

March 3, 2003 - Shanghai, China. Aplus Flash Technology, a leader in embedded and stand alone non-volatile memory, opened the Shanghai branch of our office on March 3, 2003. The celebration took place at the Rainbow Hotel in Shanghai, on March 3, 2003, from 12:00pm - 2:00pm. From Aplus' foundry partners and current customers to members of the media, over 100 guests serving and covering all aspects of the semiconductor industry were in attendance. Distinguished speakers included top executives from Belling, CSMC, GSMC & SMIC, all rising stars in the rapidly growing China foundry business. Peter Lee, Aplus' President & CEO, welcomed guests and discussed Aplus' products and services expansion in the NVM market. Aplus is currently pushing out ROM, OTP and EEPROM memory products into production, with Flash planned for the latter part of 2003. At this time, Aplus is a leading embedded NVM IP provider, with proven standard and customized design offerings in ROM, OTP, EEPROM, NTP and Flash in a range of processes. Guest speaker Roger Lee, Vice President of the Memory Technology Development Center at SMIC, praised Aplus for its quick and successful efforts in developing an EEPROM IP library for SMIC's 0.35um 2P3M EEPROM process. Both companies are now promoting the process. Peter Chen, CSMC's Chairman, attested to Aplus' steady and reliable work with their mutual partner, IPCORE Technologies, in the area of 0.5um OTP development. Aplus' Shanghai office will concentrate on increasing efficiency and communication in serving Aplus' long list of Asia customers. Aplus' VP of Business Development, Dr. Hanrei Ma, will head the office. Dr. Hanrei Ma joined Aplus at the beginning of last year after serving as President of Episil, a Taiwanese foundry.
