in nonvolatile memory, was granted an additional 7 patents in 2003 by the
US Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO). Aplus Flash Technology currently
owns over 40 patents in the area of non-volatile memory technology. These
7 patents are related to Aplus' novel Flash + EEPROM design patents, which
Aplus has trademarked as its MaxFlash solution. MaxFlash is a patented flash
design that is suitable for embedded flash, combo embedded Flash + EEPROM,
and stand-alone combo chip of Flash + EEPROM. It is particularly suited
for high-density smart card applications requiring both Flash and EEPROM
capabilities, as well as next-generation cellular applications
and high-density embedded Flash + EEPROM.
