August 19, 2003 - Aplus Flash Technology, a leader in nonvolatile
memory, announces the availability of its low-density 0.35um embedded
FLASH+EEPROM IP. The embedded EEPROM IP will be offered on SMIC's 0.35um
3M2P process technology and is available in the following densities with
the following specifications: (Aplus also offers customized IP designs
if the block sizes are accepted and feasible)

Aplus' offering of
combination Flash + EEPROM IP gives customers flexible embedded non-volatile
memory solutions for applications needing various density in-system reprogrammability,
and is suitable for a wide range of applications including toys, control
systems and consumer appliances. In particular, the embedded IP is good
for 18-pin or 8-pin 8-bit microcontrollers and 8-pin or 26-pin 16-bit
microcontrollers with Flash + EEPROM + SRAM, or also for microcontrollers
with a customized number of pins.
The SRAM is also 100% non-volatile memory compatible and is not generated
from a memory compiler, for further cost-effectiveness. With Aplus' proprietary
design technology, many of the data buses and address buses can be shared
between the volatile and non-volatile memory to increase die and cost
efficiency.
