San Jose , CA, June 7, 2006 - Aplus
Flash Technology, a privately-held, fabless provider of nonvolatile memory
(NVM) products and customized NVM IP, today announced that Datang
Microelectronics Technology Co., Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Datang
Telecom Technology, and one of the largest telecommunications equipment
manufacturers in China, has successfully field tested its IC telephone
card, which uses Aplus' EEPROM IP as its memory core.
"Datang's telephone card project success is significant for Aplus
due to the large and growing telephone card market in China, where Datang
is a large supplier, selling millions of cards per year," said Dr.
Henry Ma, Shanghai General Manager and VP of IP Sales and Products. "With
the success of the Datang project, Aplus has demonstrated its technology
leadership with its EEPROM IP, which has been proven to be the cost-effective
and high performance EEPROM IP of choice in the China market."
Aplus' EEPROM IP is offered in standard 1KB to high-density 64KB blocks,
as well as customized blocks for various communication, smart card and
RFID applications. Offering high yields of over 97% on its low-density
blocks, a wide operating range of 1.8V to 6.0V, and P/E endurance cycles
of over 1 million, Aplus' EEPROM IP is silicon proven and available in
a traditional 0.35um, 2-Tr 2P2M Flotox process technology at Semiconductor
Manufacturing International Corp. (SMIC), a pure-play foundry in China.
Its small die sizes and flexibility make it most suitable for smart card
and communication applications that require data alteration down to a
byte-level.
