San Jose, California, August 13, 2003 - Aplus Flash Technology, a leader in nonvolatile memory, recently hosted an 8-person delegation from Taiwan's prestigious Chiao-Tung University, headed by Dr. Han-Lin Li, the Dean of the School of Management. The delegation consisted of various professors and university staff from the University, including Dr. Hsiao-Cheng Yu, the Associate Dean, Dr. Chian Young, the Director of eMBA, Dr. An-Bin Chen, the Director of Institute of Information Management, and Dr. Po Lung Yu, a Professor of Institute of Information Management. Additional guests included Dr. Cheng F. Lee, a Professor at Rutgers University, Mr. Wen-Cheng Bai, Chairman of Polaris Securities Group, and Mr. Kuo-An Liu, the Executive Assistant to the President at Polaris. The main purpose of
the delegation was to become more familiar with the typical business operations
of a Silicon Valley startup, particularly fabless companies focused on
IP licensing. Aplus presented its complete range of embedded NVM IP offerings,
as well as its strategies in its business models. Aplus highlighted four
areas of focus in its IP business model strategy: 1) Offering a flexible
business model of NRE, royalty and wafer sales to generate recurring revenue,
2) Shortening the turnaround time and lowering the costs associated with
acquiring third party IP, 3) Focusing on becoming a "one-stop-shop"
for customers needing NVM IP, and 4) Retaining leadership by maintaining
a high level of innovation in the NVM field. In addition to learning more
about the startup business environment in Silicon Valley, the delegation
is also promoting its MBA program in the US, particularly to Chinese-Americans.
The meeting ended with a press conference at China Stix restaurant in
Santa Clara. # # # For more information about Aplus and our product offerings, please contact: Christine Lee |
